Foscam FI8919W

Foscam is a very trusty brand of IP camera and sometimes you need something that is a little less orthodox.

Foscam ip camera recording software freeware

UPDATE: Security firm F-Secure has released a report exposing critical security vulnerabilities found in Foscam cameras. These vulnerabilities, if exploited, could grant a hacker full control of your camera. While Sensr.net still supports Foscam cameras, we DO NOT recommend using them. If your Foscam camera is already set up with Sensr.net, please update to the latest firmware to secure your camera.

The Foscam FI819W has a great shape for outdoor use and the dome gives it a wider range of view than your average bullet cam. This tutorial will show you how to get your Foscam FI819W setup with cloud recording.

I'll also show you how to push images to Sensr.net so you can take advantage of all of our cool features, like email and SMS alerts, 30 days archiving, no firewall config, clip sharing, embedable live streams, guest access, etc.

Best audio recording software for windows 7 free download. First you need to get all your hardware setup. Plug your camera into both your router and a power source. Remember where you setup your camera is super important. You want a good view of high traffic areas, and remember zoom here is digital not optical so don't put it to far from things you want to see; since this is an outdoor cam I suggest facing it towards your drive way.

Once you've got it plugged in you are going to need to find the camera's IP address. You can do this either by going through your router or buy using the software included with your camera. I suggest going through your router because the software can be a bit of a pain and learning how to access your router is a good skill anyways.

I will show you how to do this on a mac (because I am writing from a mac) but it is also very easy to do from a PC (the PC process is outlined in this article). On my mac it is under system preferences>Network>Advanced…>TCP/IP. The page looks like this:

Once you have the IP address just enter it into your browser and it should bring you to a network access page. Everyone's looks different depending on the make and model of their browser. Mine, for example, looks like this:

If you aren't sure which device is new you can always unplug your camera then plug it back in to see which one disappears and comes back.

Now that you've got your camera's IP address you need to open a new tab on your browser and type it in. You will be brought to a page asking you for a username and password. The default username is admin with no password. You will come to a page that looks like this:

Laman web download software. You will need to choose one of the three modes based of of what browser you are using. I use chrome so I used server push mode. Once you select one you will get to the network access page. If it prompts you to run the Active-X add on make sure to say yes. Finally you will end up on this page:

Main Control Page

Now you have total control over the camera and you can make it do anything you like. Since we have control over the camera it is time to go setup the cloud side of things through Sensr.net.

Simply log into your Sensr.net account click the Add Camera button. Sensr.net has a free one week trial, so give it a go and see if it works for you. (It's free to setup an account with Sensr.net. Camera monitoring starts at $9.95/month after your free trial is up.) Once you login you'll see a page like this:

Next you'll see a page like this where you can set the timezone for your camera, give it a name, and tell us the model. Cameras default to private but you can make them public if you want to share them with the world.

After that, we'll generate some FTP credentials for your camera. This generates a login for your FI819W to where it can upload images via FTP. This tells your camera where to upload the images. The important information here is:

  1. FTP Server
  2. FTP User name
  3. FTP Password

Save these so we can add them to your camera later.

Now head back to the network access window for your camera so you can point it to Sensr.net. Click the bar 'Device Management' and you will come to a page like this:
